Program Introduction
Students are required to complete the curriculum within 4 to 6 years, fulfill the designated number of credits and pass a thesis defense. Successful graduates will receive a graduation certificate along with the bachelor’s degree, according to Degree Committee regulations.
Application Prerequisites
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport (according to NATIONALITY LAW OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA), between the ages of 18 and 25 (born after September 1, 2002), and have attained a senior high school diploma.
2. According to the Ministry of Education, residents of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan who have emigrated to other countries and are applying to Peking University as international students must present valid passport or citizenship documents attained before April 30, 2016, and proof of their renunciation of Chinese nationality, along with proof of residence abroad of at least 2 years between April 30, 2016, and April 30, 2020 (9 months of residence abroad per year may be considered as one year).

Application Process
1. Online Registration
Please register at http://www.studyatpku.com. Fill in and submit the “Without Sitting for the Entrance Examination” application form. In general, applicants will be able to check the status of their application within 10 work days. After the application is reviewed, please print the form and pay the application fee.
2. Submit Application Materials
2.1. After completing the Peking University Application Form for International Students online, please print it and attach a 2-inch passport-style photo.
2.2. Senior high school graduation diploma (Students expecting to graduate should provide an official letter stating expected graduation date, and submit the graduation diploma if admitted), which should be the original documents or certified copies in Chinese or English.
2.3. Results or predicted results of international standard tests (SAT/AP/IB/A-Level/ACT).
2.4. Official transcripts of your academic achievements up to the present, including courses taken and grades achieved (original documents or certified copies in Chinese or English).
2.5. A copy of your HSK results or Chinese Language course results.
2.6. Two letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation must be original documents, either in Chinese or English.
2.7. A personal statement
2.8. One photocopy of your passport (must be a valid, ordinary passport).
2.9. Applicants who were born after April 30, 2002, must provide birth certificate and both parents’ nationality proof documents, including certificate for permanent residence.
2.10. Additional materials may be requested from Peking University

Materials Submission Period
First Round:
November 8-16, 2019 (work days only). Online application will open on October 15, 2019, and will end on November 8, 2019. (The actual submission time is subject to the time of submission for the first time.)
Second Round:
March 2-10, 2020 (work days only). Online application will open on January 1, 2020, and will end on March 2, 2020. (The actual submission time is subject to the time of submission for the first time.)
Materials can be submitted in person or through the mail. For deadline purposes, the date of posting will be considered as the date of submission. To ensure timely delivery of materials, SF Express (顺丰) and EMS are recommended in mainland China.

Application Fee
800 RMB. Please pay the application fee before materials submission. Payment by cash, Unionpay bank card, or online payment. Other currencies and travel cheques are not accepted. Please note that incomplete application materials or applications without the application fee will not be processed. The application fee is not refundable.
Admission Interview
Successful applicants are required to participate in an admission interview conducted by Peking University. The first round of interviews will be in late November or at the beginning of December. The second round interview will be scheduled in April. Specific time will be notified.
During the interview, applicants are required to bring their admission ticket, passport, and visa documents. Applicants whose documents do not comply with the requirements will be disqualified from the interview. Overseas applicants who would like to request a webcam interview, kindly email your request to undergraduate@pku.edu.cn within five days after you receive the interview notice.

Admission
Admission will be determined according to the application materials and the interview. Admission results will be posted online (http://www.isd.pku.edu.cn) after the interview. The "Admission Letter" and the attached documents can be issued from the middle of June. Students who are unable to provide a final transcript will be provided with a preliminary admission letter. If your final grades do not meet our requirements, your admission will be automatically rescinded. After admission, the school may review application documents. If the school discovers a violation, it reserves the right to revoke your admission.

PKU International Students Scholarship
Peking University offers full and partial scholarships for outstanding students. A full scholarship covers tuition fee, 2000RMB/month living allowance and medical insurance for the first year. A partial scholarship covers tuition fee for the first year. Students may apply for a scholarship after the admission announcements are made. Medical Insurance
Chinese Ministry of Education regulations require that all international students must be medically insured throughout their entire planned period of study. Students are required to purchase the Comprehensive Insurance Plan for Foreign Students online before or on the day of registration. Students who do not have valid medical insurance will not be allowed to register.

Non-Chinese government scholarship students are required to find their own living accommodation. Please note that students who live off campus must register with their local police station within 24 hours of arrival.
Visa Information
Students admitted to PKU should apply for the ‘X1’ visa at the Chinese Embassy/Consulate in your country with your admission letter and JW201/202 form. The X1 visa will only be valid for 30 days after arrival in China. Within these 30 days, international students must come to the International Students Division and apply for a Residence Permit in order to obtain a legal status in China.
